At a time when the Indigenous African language being thaught and spoken in our homes is
going into extinction, a socio-ethnic group in Etsako Students' Union in the University of Benin came up with an idea to enhance and reinvigorate the speaking of the local dialects amongst Students. The first edition of the Indigenous Language Story Telling Competition was held yesterday November 24th and Mr Alexander Obanedo a student of the Department of Anatomy emerged the Winner. He defeated two other contestants who themselves were also good.
Mr Alexander Obanedo went home with the cash Prize of #1000 while the two other contestants were rewarded with the sum of #500 each by the Union's President Mr Abdulahi Abdulqadir.
