The Joint Admission And Matriculation Board yesterday cancelled the list of aspiring students that had been posted for admission consideration to various schools giving the the Universities the autonomous power to admit students based on merit.
The Federal govt sometime ago ordered the scrapping of the Post Utme and stopping of Universities admitting Students saying that Jamb is the body that has the right to admit students. Later, the govt came out to say all schools can conduct Post Utme exams but only with the use of paper and pencil type not the former computer test type.
With this latest development coming at a time when aspiring students and schools confused of what to do next, we believe and hope that this decision has come to stay and the admission process can now move on smoothly without hiccups. So we implore all schools to start, hasten and finish up with the admission as soon as possible because time is no longer on their side.
The new policy is that schools can now conduct screening exercise, admit students based on merit and send back to Jamb for verification and approval before publishing as it used to be before years back.
