Life In Hall III As a Uniben Student- See Details!!

Uniben, What a School.
The school that tests the mettle of great men. Men that thought they had seen all life had to offer, only to be reminded by the great citadel of how little they actually knew about life

Somewhere close to the centre of this school is a formidable fortress that brought forth from its bowels the best the Nigerian University system had to offer. The extent of its formidability is such that none who have gone through the system can say they don't know of its existence. If you are still wondering about this fortress, you should know that I speak of none other than the Great Aminu Kano Hall A.K.A Hall 3.
Hall 3 Brethren I dey Greet una o!!!
If you want to talk about traditions, you can be sure that hall 3 is known for a unique singular tradition; Arrowing!!!. This Arrowing culture of hall 3 is so far reaching that hardly would you find a single student who hasn't tasted its Product. Don't let the "product" term i used confuse you, because the Arrowing is more of a freely given service. Arrowing which is done from the upper floors staircases of Block B in hall 3 and Block E in hall 2, involves jests and insults jokingly directed at students walking through the valley between the fences of hall 3 and hall 2. This jests most of the time leaves both the sender and the recipient laughing, but at other times, this laughter may not be involved, especially on the side of the recipient.
A prominent part of Hall 3 are the cleaning Mamas who come every morning to clean up our varied mess. Trust me they do their work well, but the behavior of all guys, me included negates any good work they may do. So much so that some mornings I wake up to find the Mamas shouting and cursing at what looked like no one in particular, only to find out that the bearers of such eloquently placed curses were none other than fellow undergrads. Well, the reason for the curses is found in my next question. Who at such an age can't tell the difference between a bathroom and a toilet, especially in their uses? Who???
I hope you got my drift.
Well to answer my own question I would say come to hall 3 and you will find them aplenty.
The life of a student is a life filled with hard choices. One of such choices is what food combination to eat. This economic problem has made so many students very creative with their food combinations that one might actually mistake uniben for a school for training 5 star chefs.
Some of these combos Include but not restricted to; the popular fast food of Garri and Indomie, Bread and Indomie, bread and Suya, etc. One such combination that shocked me was when I found my friend eating Eba with a soup made out of garri and red oil. In our defense, I would say these combinations were designed to maximize satisfaction by filling up the stomach space and not for dietary needs.
It will be unfair, if not disrespectful of me to talk about hall 3 without Mentioning our Esteemed Jackophytes in conjunction with the match viewers and footballers alike. These three sets of people stay side by side everyday but live as if on different planets. You would appreciate what I am saying if you have ever walked from the common room to the reading room to finally end outside where you watch the uniben footballers live as opposed to those in the viewing room. The differences of these three worlds existing side by side would be made undeniably clear.
Another Group whose presence is felt not only inside the hostel but also throughout the the school is that having is members Pastors, Preachers, Evangelists as well as prayer warriors.
In Hall 3, the fervour and vigor with which this group carryout their activities is enough to make you feel spiritually safe...

So all these factors and many more unstated, combine to make Hall 3 a well packaged experiencence you wouldn't soon forget, even if you tried to.
